My name is Alison – welcome to my food blog.
Food doesn’t have to cost the earth to be delicious but it is nearly always better when it is freshly cooked. By fresh I mean meals that aren’t ready bought and over processed with unnecessary ingredients and additives (but I don’t think there’s anything wrong with using tins and frozen food).
My philosophy is not to worry too much about fat and calories. The natural ‘good’ fat in food is healthy. I like to cook a wide range of food using natural ingredients.
A key part of the way I cook is to use up leftovers and ingredients I already have in stock, avoiding waste as much as possible so this means I often go with the flow with food prep, rather than looking for elaborate recipes. I live on my own (although like cooking for other people!) so I’m always thinking ahead about how to squeeze more than one meal from the same cooking session.
All the recipes I use are easy and many of them are very quick too.
I hope you like the recipes – let me know what you think of them, I love getting comments on the blog. Do you have a cheap, fresh and easy recipe I can try? Let me know and I’ll feature it on the site and link back to you.
